MD Lt Governor Rutherford Visits Shoreline Project at Assateague State Park

Maryland Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford visits a shoreline resiliency and restoration project at Assateague State Park today. The innovative project funded by the Chesapeake and Atlantic Bays Coastal Fund, enhances habitat, improves public access and reduces erosion through the use of nature-based structures.  Maryland DNR recently finished the project, which consists of a series of 10 headland structures aimed at dissipating wave energy created during large storm events, and other climate and weather-based impacts.
