Additional Information from MDOT:
Motorists will follow a signed detour that includes US 113 (Worcester Highway), MD 90 (Ocean City Expressway) and MD 528 (Coastal Highway) while the bridge is closed.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Covington Machine and Welding, of Annapolis, will use concrete barriers, barrels, and cones to direct motorists through the detour route. Arrow panels and variable message signs will be placed prior to the detour to alert motorists to the closures and changing traffic patterns.
The State Highway Administration appreciates customers’ patience during construction as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused and be aware of reduced speed limits and changing driving patterns. Slow Down and move over in work zones. It’s the law.
