Milford Man Charged after Assault of Georgetown Man

A Milford man has been charged after violating a no contact order. Delaware State Police say 29 year old Tyler Melvin went to a home on Sussex Pines Road in Georgetown where he argued with a 65 year old man who advised Melvin of the no contact order and asked him to leave. Melvin refused and struck the victim in the face several times, choked him and took his cell phone. The victim was able to leave his home Wednesday to go to the hospital where he was treated for injuries. Police found Melvin still at the victim’s home and arrested him on charges of 2nd degree assault, strangulation and multiple other offenses. He’s being held in default of a $37,000 cash only bond.
