Millsboro Man Charged with DUI after Crash on Route 24 East of Millsboro

A Millsboro man was arrested after a vehicle crash last week near Oak Orchard. Delaware State Police tell the Talk of Delmarva that a Chevy van was westbound on Route 24 when it veered off the road, struck a utility pole and fence before crossing into the eastbound land and colliding head on with a Mazda.
The driver of the Mazda, a 30 year old Millsboro man, was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the van, identified as 39 year old Robert Weaver of Millsboro, showed signs of impairment. While looking for Weaver’s driver’s license, the trooper found a bag of suspected heroin, and 17 Alprazolam pills inside a pill box. Weaver was arrested and found to have 2 prior DUI-related convictions. He faces several drug and traffic offenses:
- 3rd Offense Driving Under the Influence (Felony)
- Vehicular Assault 3rd Degree
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – 2 counts
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Traffic Offenses
Weaver has been released on bond.
