Millsboro Man Dies from Injuries in Crash Friday West of Millsboro

A Millsboro man involved in a crash around 11 Friday morning died from his injuries Saturday. Delaware State Police say 73 year old Gary Cooney of Millsboro was a passenger in a Mazda waiting to turn left into a private driveway on Millsboro Highway west of Mumford Road when the vehicle was struck by an Oldsmobile attempting to pass the Mazda on the left as they began to turn into the driveway. The Mazda was struck on the left side and forced into a standing tree. The driver of the Mazda was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries and released. The driver of the Oldsmobile was not injured. All were wearing seatbelts. The investigation is ongoing.
