Millsboro Wawa Robbed; Police Identify Suspect Through Video Surveillance

Delaware State Police have arrested a 34-year-old Millsboro man for robbing the Wawa in Millsboro around 3 a.m. Saturday morning. Troopers spoke with the cashier and learned that a man wearing a sweatshirt, mask, and gloves went into the store to buy a cigar. When the cashier opened the register drawer, he tried to steal the entire cash drawer and then pried the cashier’s hands off the drawer and stole an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene. The cashier was not injured. Detectives identified the man through video surveillance as Andrew Maccord of Millsboro. On August 22nd, detectives found Maccord at his apartment, and he was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Robbery Second Degree (Felony) and Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony) and was released on $4,000 unsecured bond.
