Thompson was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.

A Camden man has died following a motorcycle accident on South DuPont Highway near State Fair Boulevard in Harrington.

Delaware State Police said the motorcyclist was traveling southbound late Thursday afternoon. An 81-year-old Dover woman at a stop sign entered the median crossover to head north, and the motorcycle struck her car.

The 22-year-old Camden man who was driving the motorcycle died in a local hospital. His name has not been released. The woman was flown to Christiana Hospital where she was treated and released.

State Police said because of the motorcyclist’s ‘extreme rate of speed,’ the other driver was unable to perceive how fast it was going and pulled into traffic.

Police are still investigating the accident, and anyone with information is asked to contact Delaware State Police at 302-697-4454 or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333.
