Motorcyclist Killed In Kent Co. Crash


Update: Delaware State Police Sunday identified the man who died when a motorcycle and another vehicle collided Friday afternoon on Route 8 west of Dover as Corey Mayes, 25, of Henderson, Maryland.


A crash west of Dover has claimed the life of a man who was driving a motorcycle.

According to Delaware State Police, a 32-year-old man was heading westbound on Forrest Avenue in a car preparing to turn left onto Nault Road Friday afternoon. He apparently turned into the path of a motorcycle. It’s operator, a 25-year-old Henderson, Maryland man, laid the motorcycle down on its side before he and the motorcycle struck the car.

The motorcyclist died at a local hospital. The other driver, a Dover resident, was not hurt.

Route 8 (Forrest Avenue) was closed in the area for about three hours due to the crash and investigation.
