MSP Aviation Rescue Injured Worker from Cargo Ship in Chesapeake Bay


A man injured in a fall on a cargo ship in the Chesapeake Bay near Stevensville on Monday was rescued by Maryland State Police Aviation Command. Officials say a cargo ship worker fell about 10 feet from a ladder. Trooper 1 responded and hovering 120-feet over the ship, lowered a flight paramedic to the deck where the injured man was assessed of his injuries. A backboard was lowered and the man secured and hoisted to the helicopter and taken to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
