Multi-Agency Drug Trafficking Investigation Leads to Multiple Arrests & Drugs Seizures

Local, Regional and State law enforcement today announced the culmination of a long-term narcotics investigation targeting a major drug trafficking organization, which was responsible for distributing narcotics throughout the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia, as well as Baltimore and lower Delaware. Significant quantities of illegal drugs, weapons and money was seized associated with the organization.

This investigation began in Worcester County in late 2024 when investigators received information on Desmond Roberts, Jr., being involved in drug transactions in the county. Investigators determined that Roberts was involved in a larger scale drug trafficking organization.

Through the course of the operation, investigators utilized surveillance, undercover operations, search warrants and other coordinated enforcement actions to identify key members and dismantle trafficking routes. This led to the authorization of a Title III Wiretap investigation involving a total of 19 telephonic lines being intercepted over the course of several months. Investigators were able to identify and disrupt individuals who were responsible for supplying local communities with illegal drugs.

To date, 13 have been arrested, however additional arrests are pending through indictments.

Police have seized:

  • 42.61 kilograms of cocaine  
  • 23.8 grams of crack cocaine  
  • 4.41 kilograms of marijuana  
  • 3.6 grams of MDMA (ecstasy)  
  • 36 fentanyl pills  
  • 8.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms  
  • 1.9 grams of heroin  
  • 5 suboxone strips  
  • 11 firearms recovered  
  • $23,816 in US currency  
  • 11 vehicles seized  
  • 2 residences seized 
  • 80+ search and seizure warrants executed
