National Gas Price Average Edging Higher; Lower in Delaware Since Last Week


Drivers in certain areas of the region may notice gas prices ticking up slightly ahead of the holiday weekend. According to  AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular is up a couple of cents from last week to $2.94.  Current prices remain below what they were this time last year when the national average was $3.14. The Delaware gas price average is $2.87 today, which is actually down 5 cents in the last week and 19 cents lower than one year ago. The South Jersey gas price average is $2.90 today, up 6 cents in the last week and down 9 cents compared to one year ago. The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station remained the same as last week at 38 cents—and in Delaware two cents higher since last week at 33 cents. At the close of Wednesday’s formal trading session, WTI rose 67 cents to settle at $64.63 a barrel. The EIA reports crude oil increased by 8.5 million barrels from the previous week.
