New Election Districts In Effect for Upcoming Millsboro Municipal Election in June


Governor Matt Meyer has signed legislation that amends the charter of the Town of Millsboro to authorize redistricting of the Town’s three municipal election districts using the 2020 federal census by January 1st of 2026 – and redistrict within 2 years of the the latest federal census. House Bill 25 also changes the process to fill a vacancy on the Town Council and clarifies that the Secretary shall be one of the members of the Town Council – and describes the Secretary’s duties.

Following the vote at the Town Council Meeting on Monday, May 5th, and the signing of HB25 by Governor Meyer on May 7th, the Town of Millsboro municipal election districts have been amended.  The new districts are in effect for the upcoming Millsboro municipal election on June 14th.  The filing deadline for candidates is 4:30pm on Wednesday, May 14th.
