Beginning Tuesday, May 6, there will be no boardwalk or beach access at Baltimore Avenue so that a new sidewalk can be installed on the north side of the new Beach Patrol and Comfort Station facility. This is all weather permitting – the north sidewalk is expected to reopen on Saturday, May 10.
The two-story, 5,500-square foot building will be fully accessible with public facilities on the first level and the beach patrol on the second level.
City officials say the finishing work on the facility and site continues to progress nicely. A series of inspections – including for the elevator, electrical and fire marshal – are scheduled before the city’s final inspection, which is anticipated May 16.
The contractor, Delmarva Veteran Builders, will hold a company-wide cleanup of the site and building on Saturday, May 10.
