No Municipal Election in Georgetown in May

The deadline to file as a candidate for two open seats on the Georgetown Town Council has passed. Incumbent Christina Diaz-Malone was the only candidate to file for the Ward 1 seat. Anthony Neal was the only candidate to file for the Ward 2 seat, currently held by Sue Barlow, who did not run for another term. With only one candidate for each seat, there will be no election on Saturday, May 13^th. Diaz-Malone and Neal will each serve for 2 years and will be sworn in on Monday, June 12^th. The Town Council will then organize with the election of a Vice-Mayor and Secretary.
