OC Fire Marshal Investigating Dune Grass Fire in North Ocean City Saturday Night

The Ocean City Fire Marshal is looking for your help after a dune grass fire Saturday night around 9:20 in the area of 116th and 117th Streets. Officials say a significant area of dune grass along the beach was burned – preliminary findings indicate the cause may have been illegal use of fireworks. Investigators are asking anyone with information, pictures or video of the incident to contact the Fire Marshal – DMARQUEZ@OCEANCITYMD.GOV.
Dune grass provides critical protection of the coastline from erosion and storm impacts.
