Ocean City asked to go “strawless” this summer

An environmental group is asking Ocean City businesses and visitors to sign a pledge to say no to plastic straws this summer.  The Ocean City chapter of the Surfrider Foundation has launched a “Strawless Summer” campaign in an effort to cut down on plastic pollution on beaches and in waterways and oceans.  The foundation reports Americans use an estimated 500 million straws a day, many of which end up in waterways and harming marine life.
