Ocean Pines is the safest place in Maryland. That’s according to National Council for Home Safety and Security, who analyzed FBI crime statistics and ranked cities based on violent crimes and property crimes per 1,000 people. According to the numbers, the largest residential community in Worcester County is also the safest in Maryland. Ocean Pines police chief David Massey says his officers are closely tied to the community, and take pride in keeping residents safe. Since the study eliminated towns with under 10,000 people from consideration, most locations in Delaware were not analyzed.
