OCPD Arrest 3 on Weapons Offenses after Traffic Stop
Three people were arrested after a traffic stop by Ocean City Police that resulted in the recovery of three loaded handguns. Just before 8pm Saturday police stopped a vehicle near North Division Street and Baltimore Avenue and while talking to the four vehicle occupants police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Everyone in the vehicle was under the age of 21 – not legally permitted to possess marijuana – and a search of the vehicle was done. A loaded handgun was found – and two loaded handguns were found in 20 year old Tyshawn Yerby’s possession. Marijuana was also found in the vehicle and on of the occupants. Police later learned that two of the handguns were reported stolen from Baltimore County in 2023. Police arrested Yerby, 20 year old Oreese Stevenson – both from Baltimore and a 17 year old juvenile from Middle River, who is being charged as an adult. All three face multiple offenses and are being held without bond at the Worcester County jail. A fourth occupant in the vehicle was released from the scene.
