Over 40 Dogs and Other Animals Seized from Sharptown Property

The Humane Society of Wicomico County along with County and Salisbury Animal Control were called as the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department served a warrant at a property on State Street in Sharptown Friday afternoon. Deputies found 43 dogs of various breeds housed in a barn in unsanitary conditions. The dogs – as well as 3 cats, 5 chickens and a turtle were seized and taken to the Humane Society for emergency care.

Many of the animals are expected to be available for adoption in the near future.

The investigation is continuing and criminal charges are pending.
