Ownings Mills Man Drowns in Sinepuxent Bay Near Berlin Campground

An Owings Mills man was found floating face down in the Sinepuxent Bay near the Tiki Bar Beach area of Castaways Campgrounds near Berlin on Wednesday evening. Worcester Sheriff’s deputies responded to the reported drowning. Several bystanders brought 65 year old Ronald Lingenfelder to shore and began lifesaving measures until EMS arrived. Lingenfelder was taken to AGH in Berlin where he was pronounced dead.

The Worcester Bureau of Investigation and personnel from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating.
