Parsonsburg Garage Fire Accidental

Powellville Volunteer firefighters were called for a garage fire just after 4 Thursday afternoon on Laws Road in Parsonsburg. Firefighters arriving at the scene found a detached 24-foot by 24-foot garage on fire with exposure to several outbuildings. The fire was discovered by a passerby and investigators say the fire was accidental and began inside the garage from heat from grass clippings under the mower deck of a tractor recently used for mowing. The fire damaged a nearby outbuilding as well.
Damage is estimated at $160,000.
