Pittsville Man Sentenced To 35 Years For Sexual Abuse Of A Minor And Second-Degree Assault

A 50-year-old Pittsville, Maryland man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison, the maximum penalty provided by law. Donald Kennedy received his sentence from the Honorable Matthew A. Maciarello, Associate Judge of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County. According to the Office of the State’s Attorney for Wicomico County, In 2017, Kennedy sexually abused a minor under his care. Also, between 2022 and 2023, Kennedy inappropriately touched another minor under his care, which amounted to a second-degree assault. Kennedy pleaded guilty on March 27th, 2026, to Sexual Abuse of a Minor and Assault in the Second Degree. If Kennedy is released from prison, he will be under lifetime sexual offender supervision and will be required to register as a Tier III sexual offender for life.
