Police Pursuit in Long Neck Ends With Arrest After Georgetown Woman Jumps Into Rehoboth Bay
Delaware State Police arrested a Georgetown woman after a pursuit in the Long Neck area Monday afternoon. Police say that at about 4:00 PM on January 26th, a member of the Sussex County Governor鈥檚 Task Force saw a Ford F-150 almost collide with another vehicle at the intersection while traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway near Bay Farm Road. The Ford turned onto Bay Farm Road. A detective tried to pull the truck over, but the driver–identified as 40-year-old Lindsey Moncavage– did not stop. The F-150 struck a fence and a tree in a residential community and came to a stop. Moncavage then ran from the truck and jumped into Rehoboth Bay before a trooper apprehended her and brought her to safety. A passenger who exited the vehicle during the pursuit suffered minor injuries, and investigators later reported finding drug paraphernalia in the truck. Moncavage faces several charges. She was taken to an area hospital for evaluation, and after being released, she was taken to Troop 4. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and is now at Sussex Correctional Institution on over $5,500 secured bond.
