Police search for suspect in gas station robbery near Harrington

Police are searching for the suspect who tried to rob a Valero gas station near Harrington.

According to the Delaware State Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:19 a.m., Tuesday, November 12 when troopers were dispatched to the Valero Shore Stop on South DuPont Highway in Harrington for reports of a robbery.

Troopers met with a store manager who told police that a person had entered the store, walked up to the register, and demanded money. The manager told the suspect that there was no money in the register at the time.

The suspect never displayed a weapon and proceeded to walk out of the store without obtaining merchandise or cash, according to police. The manager was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 20-30 years old, wearing all dark clothing. The suspect was spotted driving away from the area in what appeared to be a red/maroon sedan with Maryland registration.
