Rehoboth’s Ocean Outfall project receives permit modifications. While work was supposed to wrap up by the end of March, the construction has been hampered by bad weather and unforeseen obstacles. The US Army Corps of Engineers has modified its permit to allow the contractor to perform work in the ocean on or after April 1st. DNREC also lifting a Time of Year Restriction on the contractor; they will now have until May 23rd to complete the project. Mayor Paul Kuhns calls the outfall the biggest and most important project in the city, and says its being completed as safely and quickly as possible.
