Repair Work, Inprovement Project Leading to Road Closures in Salisbury
The City of Salisbury has announced a temporary closure of Mill Street between Route 50 and Lemon Hill Lane to accommodate ongoing bridge repair work. The closure is scheduled for today, Wednesday, Feb. 18th from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. During this time, through traffic will not be permitted in the work zone. Officials advise using alternate routes and allowing additional travel time. Local access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained as conditions allow.
Meanwhile, the City of Salisbury Department of Field Operations will close St. Peters Street for construction. Crews will be working on concrete improvements throughout the week. West Main Street and West Church Street will remain open, but motorists should expect increased traffic and possible delays in the downtown area. Construction is scheduled to be completed by聽 this Friday, Feb. 20th. Mayor Randy Taylor emphasized the importance of the project for the city鈥檚 economic vitality–stating that investing in the City’s infrastructure is key to boosting business downtown. He adds that these improvements will make area streets safer and more accessible, creating a better experience for residents and visitors alike.
