The Pennsylvania Railroad Locomotive #60 will arrive at Lewes Junction on Tuesday, May 5th at 7am. The historic, cosmetically restored 1913 steam engine will be transported in 3 segments from two locations. The boiler and trucks will come from Marshallton, Delaware and the cab will be delivered by a trucking company from Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee where it was reconstructed. The 3 parts will be reassembled on the track at Adams Avenue and will be joined to the existing display of the coal tender and caboose. FMW Solutions, nationally recognized experts in historic rail equipment restorations, was contracted for the project.Â
The Lewes Junction Railroad & Bridge Association will officially unveil Engine #60 on National Train Day – Saturday, May 9th.
