Ridgely Man Arrested for 2nd Degree Murder

Emergency personnel were called to a home on Maple Avenue in Ridgely Monday morning for a 65 year old man in cardiac arrest. When Caroline County Sheriff’s office and Ridgely Fire and EMS personnel arrived the victim was deceased and showed injuries consistent with an assault. Investigation showed that a physical altercation occurred between the victim and another resident of the home, 22 year old Tyler Davis.
Davis was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
- Second Degree MurderÂ
- Manslaughter Adult VictimÂ
- Assault First DegreeÂ
- Second Degree AssaultÂ
- Reckless EndangermentÂ
- Vulnerable Adult Physical InjuryÂ
- Vulnerable Adult Abuse House/Family MemberÂ
- Vulnerable Adult Abuse Custodian
Tyler Davis was taken before the Caroline County District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance, at which time he was remanded to the Caroline County Detention Center without bond.
The victim has been taken to the Medical Examiner’s office in Baltimore to determine the cause and manner of death.
