ORIGINAL STORY – 10/14/25 – Salisbury firefighters were called for a structure fire just after 5:30 Monday afternoon. Crews arriving on Oxbridge Drive found a home on fire in the garage area with reports of one person trapped and unaccounted for. Firefighters made entry and searched for any trapped victims. No one was found – and it was determined the reported trapped victim was out of the home. The second floor over the garage collapsed and firefighters were pulled from the home after several explosions and reports of ammunition in the home by the homeowner.

Multiple Wicomico County fire companies assisted or provided backup.  It took 2 hours to control the blaze and fire personnel were on the scene for over six hours.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal says that the fire begin in the interior of the attached garage – the cause remains under investigation. Damage is estimated at $400,000.

Five residents were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
