The Salisbury Police Department has a new 4-footed member – K-9 Chaos. Chaos, Belgian Malinois mix, was a donation from the Throw Away Dogs Project which helps train dogs into law enforcement canines. Originally trained for bed bug detection – it was found Chaos responded better to police work and detection training. Chaos and handler PFC Gutierrez have completed an initial 6-week K-9 training where Chaos was certified in explosive detection.

More from the Salisbury Police Department: The donation of Chaos was organized by Delmarva K-9, who then connected Chaos to Throw Away Dogs Project. Chaos was entirely donated, leaving the Salisbury Police Department to fund only the 6 weeks of training for Chaos and PFC Gutierrez, along with equipment needed for operations.

Chaos will join Axle, Bolt, and Hank at the Salisbury Police Department, with shifts beginning in April 2023.
