Another suspect has been sentenced in a shooting that occurred at Pizza City in Salisbury on April 15, 2023. On Friday, November 7th, 37 year old Kyiesha Elliott of Salisbury, was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 5 years as active incarceration and another 5 suspended in lieu of 5 years of probation. Elliott pleaded guilty in September of 2023 to a charge of accessory after the fact to first degree murder. Elliott had been on pretrial release pending her sentencing by Wicomico County Circuit Court Judge S. James Sarbanes.

Additional information from the Wicomico County State’s Attorney:

During the late evening hours of April 15, 2023, Kyiesha Elliott’s son, Mykel Elliott, and others sought out the location of their victims near downtown Salisbury, bent on revenge for a video posted earlier that evening which was perceived by Mykel Elliott and his associates as a challenge in an ongoing gang feud.   Mykel Elliott and others located the victims at Pizza City early on the morning of April 16th, shooting one victim to death and shooting another surviving victim multiple times. In the hours and days following the murder, Kyiesha Elliott assisted her son in evading authorities and otherwise impeded the police investigation of the crime. Mykel Elliott was convicted of the murder, gang participation and related crimes by a Wicomico County jury on October 24, 2025, and is currently incarcerated pending sentencing. A second shooter previously pleaded guilty to First Degree Murder and was sentenced on August 8, 2025.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney (SA) Jamie L. Dykes commented, “Violent criminals in our County are increasingly protected and emboldened by those around them who obstruct police investigations by hiding information, giving false information and by various other illegal means. Those who do so contribute to the violence in our society and must be held accountable just as the actual perpetrators are. My Office will continue to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.”

SA Dykes commended the members of the Maryland State Police (MSP) Homicide Unit and the Salisbury Police Department (SPD) for their diligent investigation of these tragic events. She specifically commended the lead investigators, Sergeant Wildman (MSP Homicide Unit) and Detective Glynn (SPD) for their hard work and persistence, and Detective Doyle (SPD) for his efforts throughout the investigation. SA Dykes
also commended the lead prosecutor, Deputy State’s Attorney D. Scott Messersmith, for his efforts.
