School Board Elections Tuesday, May 13 in Delaware
School Board Elections take place in Delaware statewide Tuesday, May 13th. In Sussex County, not every school district will have an election. There are elections in the Cape Henlopen, Indian River and Woodbridge School Districts.
In the Cape Henlopen School District there are three candidates for the Area C seat – Laura Parsons, Andy Lewis and Patty Maull.
For the At Large seat, incumbent Bill Collick is challenged by Chris Lovenguth.
Polling locations for Cape Henlopen voters:
- Cape Henlopen High School
- Mariner Middle School
- Rehoboth Elementary School
- Rehoboth Fire Co Sta #2
Incumbent Jason Bradley is the only candidate to file for the Area B seat.

In the Indian River School District – three candidates have filed for 2 open District 1 seats – incumbents Lisa Hudson Briggs and Kelly Kline are challenged by Dereck Booth. In
Polling locations for Indian River voters:
- Georgetown Elementary School
- Dept of Elections – Warehouse (Georgetown)
District 2 incumbent Jerry Peden was the only candidate to file and in District 4 Michelle Parsons is the only candidate to file.

In the Woodbridge School District two candidates have filed to fill the unexpired term – at large – LaToya Harris and Timothy Banks are running for the one year term.
Polling locations for Woodbridge voters:
- Woodbridge Middle School
- Woodbridge Early Childhood Education Center
For the 4-year At Large seat – incumbent Moraima Reardon is the only candidate to file.
There will be no elections in the Delmar, Laurel, Seaford or Milford School Districts.
To vote in public school elections you must:
- Be a citizen of the United States and the State of Delaware.
- Be domiciled within the school district for which the election is being conducted.
- Be 18 years of age on or before the day of the election.
You must also provide proof of identity and address. This includes:
- Delaware driver’s license
- Delaware ID card
- Work ID card with photo and home address
- U.S. postal material with street address
A voter may also show other reasonable documents which by themselves or in conjunction with another document identifies the person and their address such as:
- A State of Delaware vehicle registration card
- A recent utility bill
- A rent receipt
- A signed Social Security Card
- A telephone directory listing in a current phone book
School Board elections will be held on Tuesday, May 13th – polls are open from 7am to 8pm.
