Seaford Man Arrested after Warrant Execution at Old Furnace Road Residence

A Seaford man has been arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Old Furnace Road in Seaford. This came after an investigation of 48 year old Robert Mumford for the distribution of drugs from the residence. Members of the Sussex County Drug Unit, Governor’s Task Force and State Police SORT Team went into the residence on Friday and detained Mumford and another person in the residence. A child was also in the residence at the time.
A search of the residence and vehicles led to the discovery of the following items:
- Approximately 43.38 grams of heroin
- Approximately 16.87 grams of powder cocaine
- Approximately 11.04 grams of crack cocaine
- Approximately 26.81 grams of marijuana
- .22 caliber ammunition
- Drug paraphernalia
- Digital scale
- $793.00 in suspected drug proceeds
Mumford, who is a person prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition, was arrested, and taken to Troop 4. He was charged with the crimes listed below:Â Â
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited Prior Violent Crime or Felony (Felony)
- Possession of Controlled Substance, Tier 3 (Felony)
- Possession of Controlled Substance, Tier 2 (Felony) – 2 counts
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance (Felony) – 4 counts
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child by Committing a Drug Offense with a Child in the Dwelling
Mumford was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $123,200 cash bond.
