Seaford Teen Charged after Speeding Away from Traffic Stop
A Seaford teen was arrested after leading Delaware State Police on a chase Saturday night on Sussex County back roads. Police say a trooper on patrol spotted a Durango speeding on Hastings Farm Road near Seaford just after 7pm. The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped off traveling at a high rate of speed on several area roads. The Durango left the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned on Cannon Road in the area of Camp Road.
The driver was identified as 19 year old Delaney Larrimore of Seaford and taken to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Police also learned she had an active warrant and a suspended or revoked driver’s license.
Larrimore is charged with multiple offenses:
- Disregarding a Police Officer鈥檚 Signal (Felony)
- Driving a Vehicle at an Unreasonable or Imprudent Speed
- Reckless Driving
- Driving while Suspended or Revoked
- Numerous Traffic Violations
Larrimore was released on a $13,000 unsecured bond.
The roadway was closed for several hours while the damaged utility pole was repaired or replaced.
