In South Bethany– The MERR Institute rescued a baby seal over the weekend. A small gray seal pup was found in South Bethany with serious wounds. MERR Executive Director Suzanne Thurman said the seal was pretty feisty, and was named Banshee, since she was found on St. Patrick’s Day and did a bit of loud complaining.  Banshee was taken to Whaleyville Animal Hospital for initial check, and then transported to Marine Mammal Stranding Center in New Jersey for further treatment.
