Security System Notifies Homeowner of Intruder in Rehoboth Beach House

Rehoboth Beach Police were contacted on March 9th by a homeowner that his security system notified him that someone was in his house – which should be unoccupied! When police arrived they saw 41 year old Joseph Lilly seated at a table in the residence. Police entered and arrested Lilly – investigation showed that he broke a window to get in and had eaten some of the food that was in the residence. Lilly is charged with the following offenses:
- 3rd degree burglary
- theft under $1500
- criminal mischief under $1000
Lilly was given a $4000 unsecured bond.
