Selbyville man flown to Shock Trauma following serious crash near Berlin

A Selbyville man was flown to Shock Trauma following a serious crash near Berlin.

According to Maryland State Police, the crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday, as troopers were called to westbound Route 50, just east of Route 610, for reports of a motor vehicle collision.

Troopers arrived and learned that a 2005 Ford F-150, driven by 37-year-old Chad Alan Coleman, of Selbyville, was traveling westbound on Route 50, just east of Route 610, at the time of the crash when it collided with the rear of a 2013 Chrysler 200, operated by 26-year-old Cordonte Antonio Ayres, of Salisbury, Maryland.

As a result of the collision, the F-150 traveled was forced off the right side of the road and into a tree line. The Chrysler was forced into a guardrail on the ride side of the roadway.

Coleman was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma following the crash and Ayres was transported by EMS to Peninsula Regional Medical Center. The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
