Senator Buckson Introduces Constitutional Amendment to Establish Term Limits in Delaware

Senator Eric Buckson has introduced Senate Bill 222, a proposed constitutional amendment that would establish term limits for Delaware lawmakers and several statewide offices. The bill would limit state senators to five terms, state representatives to eight terms, and impose two-term limits on the attorney general, insurance commissioner, auditor of accounts, and state treasurer. If adopted, the limits would apply only to future service. The proposal requires a two-thirds vote in both chambers in two consecutive General Assemblies and has been assigned to the Senate Executive Committee.
