Vehicle Collision Leaves Dover Woman Seriously Injured

Dover Police are investigating a vehicle collision, in which a 46-year-old woman from Dover was seriously injured. The crash happened on Persimmon Tree Lane yesterday evening. Officers arrived on scene and located both vehicles with heavy front-end damage. The 46-year-old woman was airlifted to a New Castle County area hospital for treatment, and she remains there in critical condition. The other driver was transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was driving eastbound on Persimmon Tree Lane, when the other driver—an 83-year-old man from Dover– was operating a Jeep Cherokee westbound. For unknown reasons, the Jeep Cherokee entered the eastbound lane traveling westbound causing both vehicles to collide head on in that area.
