Several Arrested On Drug Charges In Milford
Police went looking for one wanted person, and ended up arresting several other people in Milford.
Milford Police said Thursday that its officers were accompanied by Dover Police, Delaware State police and the U.S. Marshals Service as they visited a local apartment complex. The investigation included obtaining a search warrant, which police said led to the seizure of 309 bags of heroin, some marijuana, two handguns and some ammunition.
Milford Police named the suspects and provided additional details:
On 11/15/2021 officers from the Milford Police Department, Dover Police, Delaware State Police, and the United States Marshals Service responded to an apartment on Bright Way in Brigtway Commons apartment complex in an attempt to locate a subject wanted by the Dover Police Department. Upon arrival officers located Taevon I. Potts, 26 of Milford, who was wanted by the Dover Police Department. The investigation, which included obtaining a search warrant for the residence, also led to James Eley, 19 of Milford, Semaj Eley, 19 of Milford, Antwain M. Holden, 23 of Ellendale, Jeffrey C. Cannon, 33 of Milford, George S. Knight, 27 of Milford, and Christopher Harris, 28 of Lincoln were also taken into custody and charged as part of this investigation as well. The investigation led to the seizure of 309 bags of heroin, 3.1 grams of marijuana, a 9mm handgun, a .38 handgun, and ammunition. Taevon I. Potts was charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm By Person Prohibited, Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Illegal Gang Participation, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Mr. Potts was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $71,100.00 cash only. Mr. Potts was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 02/04/2021 for a Preliminary Hearing. James Eley was charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by Person Prohibit Who Also Possesses Controlled Substance, Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited Prior Conviction of Use Possession or Sale of Drugs, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Illegal Gang Participation, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. J. Eley was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $67,100.00 cash only. Mr. J. Eley was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 01/21/2022. Semaj Eley was charged with Breach of Release, Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree, Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. S. Eley was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $24,100.00 cash only. Mr. S. Eley was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 02/04/2021 for a Preliminary Hearing. Antwain M. Holden was charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Holden was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $27,500.00 secured. Mr. Holden was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 02/04/2022 for a Preliminary Hearing. Jeffrey C. Cannon has been charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Cannon was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $27,500.00 secured. Mr. Cannon was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 02/04/2022 for a Preliminary Hearing. George S. Knight was charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
