Severe Weather Alert for Western Sussex Until 8:30pm

AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT WESTERN SUSSEX…
SOUTHERN KENT…EAST CENTRAL TALBOT AND SOUTHERN CAROLINE COUNTIES…UNTIL 8:30pm

At 741 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were clustered over Federalsburg, or near Hurlock, moving east at 40 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include… Georgetown, Milford, Seaford, Millsboro, Laurel, Harrington,
Federalsburg, Milton, Bridgeville, Preston, Ellendale, Harmony, Smithville, Agner, Matthews, Sycamore, Andrewsville, Blades, Greenwood and Houston.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
