Single Vehicle Crash on Armory Road Damages Utility Pole; about 1500 DEC Members without Power Overnight

A single vehicle crash on Armory Road near Frankford just after 12:30 Saturday morning shut the roadway down for hours after causing damage to a utility pole. Delaware State Police tell the Talk of Delmarva that a 24 year old Millsboro man was northbound when he failed to negotiate a slight curve in the area of Peachtree Lane and went off the roadway into a utility pole. The driver was not injured but was cited for careless driving and using an electronic device while driving. DelDOT reopened the roadway just after 8:30 Saturday morning.

Delaware Electric Cooperative says about 1500 members in the Dagsboro/Frankford area were without power overnight while repairs were made to the damaged utility pole.
