UPDATED: Stabbings, Shooting Death Under Investigation In Kent Co.
UPDATED – 5/28/21 – 4:30pm – The Delaware State Police are releasing the name of the individual that was shot and killed Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at a residence in the 700 block of Proctors Purchase Road as 37-year-old John H. Carter III of Ridgely, Maryland. Delaware State Police also tell WGMD that the two victims admitted with life-threatening stab wounds remain hospitalized.

Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting death in western Kent County and the stabbings of several people.
An investigation determined that a group of people were at a home on Proctors Purchase Road watching TV and playing video games late Tuesday night. Early Wednesday morning, police said a 37-year-old Ridgely, Maryland man flew into a rage and started attacking other people with a knife.
One of the stab victims retrieved a shotgun and shot the man with the knife in the leg. The man who was shot was taken to a hospital and later died.
Two Hartly men have life-threatening stab wounds, and two other men from Maryland were being treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
