Staff Members, Safety Monitor Assaulted at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School Fights; Two Teens Arrested


This morning, on the second day of school, fights broke out at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School after a student assaulted a school safety monitor, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies and officers from multiple agencies responded and quickly restored order. A 15-year-old and a 14-year-old were arrested on charges including assault, disorderly conduct, and disrupting school activities. Several staff members were assaulted while trying to intervene, and the school safety monitor was transported by Dorchester County EMS to be treated for injuries. Both juveniles were released to their guardians with referrals to the Department of Juvenile Services. Authorities say they remain committed to ensuring that the schools remain safe environments for learning.
