UPDATED: Stamp Out Hunger Successful – Post Offices will Take Donations through Wednesday, May 13
UPDATED – 05/10/26 – Saturday’s Stamp Out Hunger postal food drive was hugely successful, however not all donation bags were picked up by postal workers on Saturday. Food Bank of Delaware officials say that if your bag was missed Saturday – you can put it out on Monday for pickup.

ORIGINAL STORY – 05/08/26 – The Food Bank of Delaware is encouraging community members interested in participating in the Stamp Out Hunger food drive to leave a bag of nonperishable food items by their mailbox prior to mail delivery on Saturday, May 9th.

In Delaware, more than 500,000 pounds of food were collected last year. USPS officials said the Rehoboth Beach Carrier Annex led the nation in food collected during the May 10, 2025 Stamp Out Hunger food drive. Kim Turner of the Food Bank of Delaware tells the Talk of Delmarva that the First State did a great job collecting food for neighbors in need, and the goal is to continue that effort this year…
In addition to the Stamp Out Hunger food drive, at the Food Bank of Delaware, they have food pantries, and whoever is in need of help can go to the Food Bank to get assistance. More information can be found at fbd.org.

She says depending on the community families live in, the food bags may go to a local food pantry or the items may go to the Food Bank of Delaware, which would then be distributed out through their network of community food pantries.
