State Grants-in-Aid Fund Fire, EMS, and Senior Programs


In the early hours of July 1st, the Senate approved the $99.4 million Fiscal Year 2027 Grants-in-Aid bill, securing essential services funding to support the operation of senior centers, nonprofit organizations, fire companies, and veterans organizations throughout the First State. The bill includes more than $22 million for statewide paramedic services, $15.5 million for fire and ambulance companies, and a one-time $50,000 allocation to each of Delaware’s 64 fire companies and public service ambulance providers. The package also provides more than $13.4 million for senior centers, including transportation services in Sussex County, $4.2 million for county seat funding that includes Georgetown, nearly $1 million for veterans organizations statewide, $2.5 million for law enforcement support, and $1 million for emergency transitional housing assistance.
