Allegations have been brought against Delaware District 3 State Representative Josue Ortega involving an alleged domestic violence incident. House Democratic leadership issued a statement Tuesday in response to the accusation against Rep. Ortega that they are taking this seriously and that while due process must be carried out in the legal system, accountability in the State House cannot wait. An ethics complaint is being filed regarding the allegations, which will trigger a full and thorough review by the House Ethics Committee, which will be convened in coming weeks. House leadership has sent a formal letter to Rep. Ortega informing him if their intentions to investigate the matter further and requesting his full cooperation.
