Storms Cross Delmarva with Thunderstorm & Tornado Warnings


Route 404/113 Georgetown

The mid-shore of Maryland was hard hit as storms moved across Delmarva Monday night. The storms arrived amid severe thunderstorm watches and warnings and several tornado warnings – one in Dorchester County, another for Caroline and Talbot Counties and one for Sussex County. Strong thunderstorms with lightening, wind and heavy rain.

All three power companies reported outages – primarily in the Caroline County area as well as Dorchester, Talbot and Queen Anne’s Counties.

In Sussex and Kent County, a long line of storms moved across the counties but, the main areas affected were along the Route 13 and 113 corridors – the Bridgeville, Ellendale and Redden areas – and Felton and Harrington in Kent County.

Damage reports include trees and utility poles and wires down.Ā  There were no reports of any tornado sightings.
