UPDATED: Subjects in Thursday’s WOC Police Raids Waive Extradition
UPDATED Friday, 10/12 – During a bond hearing this morning in Snow Hill, Basel and Samir Ramadan have waived extradition to New York and are being held without bond in the Worcester County Detention Center. The two men were arrested Thursday after a raid by multiple police agencies yesterday on Whisper Trace Road in West Ocean City.
In 2015, both men were arrested with several others after raids in connection with a cigarette smuggling enterprise and both Basel and Samir Ramadan were then arrested on fugitive warrants from New York and extradited there to stand trial.
The two men arrested after a raid by multiple police agencies yesterday in West Ocean City are expected in court in Snow Hill this morning for a bail review. Samir and Basel Ramadan have been held without bond on charges of being a fugitive from Justice in the State of New York. Yesterday police from several local, state and federal agencies raided two homes on Whisper Trace Road. The two men arrested with several others after raids in 2013 in connection with cigarette smuggling enterprise and both were then also arrested on fugitive warrants from New York and extradited there to stand trial.
