Summer 2026 Last Chance to Experience Original Haunted Mansion at Funland Rehoboth
If you’re a fan of the Haunted Mansion at Funland in Rehoboth Beach – and want to experience the original thrills and fun you’ve had in the past – don’t miss it this summer!! After the Summer of 2026 the 45 year old Haunted Mansion will undergo a full renovation – and begin a new chapter in 2028. Funland officials say their goal is to preserve the ride’s nostalgic charm and signature personality while enhancing the overall experience. They will be collaborating with Jim Melonic – the original creative mind behind the Haunted Mansion’s classic theme and iconic feel.

Today, our family is excited to share that Funland’s Haunted Mansion will undergo a full renovation following the 2026 season, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for one of our most beloved attractions.
For more than 45 years, the Haunted Mansion has been more than just a ride, it’s a summer rite of passage, a family tradition, and a treasured piece of the Funland experience. Widely regarded by enthusiasts as one of the finest classic dark rides in the country, the Haunted Mansion has earned a reputation for its timeless scares, inventive practical effects, and unmistakable personality. Generations of guests have trusted us with their memories, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.
“This renovation is a celebration of everything that has made the Haunted Mansion special since its debut,” said Randy Curry, third-generation family member. “Our goal is simple: preserve the ride’s nostalgic charm and signature personality while enhancing the overall experience so it can continue to delight families for decades to come. Many of the original effects, beloved gags, and classic themes that guests know and love will remain, alongside thoughtful updates that bring the experience forward for a new generation.”

as we bring a new version to life.
The 2026 season will be the final opportunity to experience the original Haunted Mansion in all its nostalgic glory. Due to the scope of the project, the ride will remain closed for the summer of 2027. The newly re-imagined Haunted Mansion is expected to debut for the 2028 season.
